Meet the Teacher

Hello! I am Kaylee Cook. It is a pleasure to meet you. I am excited that you stopped by to learn a little bit more about me (the teacher) and my preschool program!
I have a love for children and teaching. Ever since I was a little girl I had always wanted to be a teacher and a mother. I can remember coming home from school every day and either playing outside in my playhouse or playing in my classroom that was set up in my bedroom. I love seeing a child light up with excitement when they discover something new. A few months ago I decided that I needed to stay at home with our son, but in the months that have followed that decision I have missed teaching so much that I have decided to start my own preschool. I figured that way I could have the best of both worlds.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and taught at Mountain View Elementary for 7 1/2 years. During that time I was able to teach 1st and 3rd grade. Although I enjoyed teaching both age groups I really enjoyed working with the younger children. They are so excited and anxious to learn. Some of my favorite moments teaching included, doing hands on activities, reading aloud some of my favorite pictures books, singing songs to help us learn a new skill or concept, and doing art projects. That is one of the reasons why I am so Excited  to teach preschool. All of the things that I love about teaching are things that preschool age children do daily.
